Canadian Mennonite University is a private university located in Winnipeg, Manitoba , Canada. Academic Merit Award
This scholarship recognizes Canadian Mennonite University students who show interest and passion in the commitments that are highlighted in CMU’s mission and vision. These include:
- Educating for peace-justice
- Learning through thinking and doing
- Generous hospitality through an invitational community and dialogue
Each year up to four Academic Merit Awards (maximum value $4,000; $1,000 per year up to four years) are awarded to students entering CMU. In order to qualify for the award, students must submit an Academic Merit Award Application Form, a 500 word essay answering one of three questions listed on the Application Form, along with one letter of nomination.
These Awards may be awarded in addition to the Academic Scholarships and are renewable for three additional years.

Music Merit Award
Each year CMU recognizes students gifted in music by offering four Music Merit Awards (maximum value $6,000; $1,500 per year up to four years).
Students applying for these scholarships must submit a letter of nomination from a music instructor and complete an audition.
It is expected that first year students receiving the Music Merit Award must be a CMU School of Music student. These Music Merit Awards are renewable for three additional years.

Business Merit Award
Redekop School of Business Merit Awards recognize CMU students who are business-minded and who desire to enter a business program at CMU. Each year three RSB Merit Awards (maximum value $6,000; $1,500 per year up to four years) are awarded to students entering the Redekop School of Business.
Application forms must be submitted along with a letter of nomination from someone who can speak for the student’s suitability in the Redekop School of Business.

Science Merit Award
Each year CMU recognizes students who excel in science and who desire to enter a Bachelor of Science program by offering two Science Merit Awards (maximum value $6,000; $1,500 per year up to four years).
Students applying for these scholarships must submit a letter of nomination from a science instructor and write a 2-3 paragraph essay (roughly 250 words) answering a question provided by CMU’s science faculty.
Science Merit Awards are renewable for three additional years.
These forms must be submitted by February 28 to be eligible.
Anni (Dyck) Wiebe Scholarship
The Anni (Dyck) Wiebe Scholarship was established at CMU in honour and memory of the life of Anni (Dyck) Wiebe. She appreciated CMBC as a place where she was able to integrate her faith with her psychiatric nursing career.
This one-year, $750 scholarship is available as an entrance award to students who wish to begin their nursing studies at CMU and have less than 30 university credits. See application form for further details.
