A startup just posted a $1,600 challenge on MindSumo (an online community for problem solvers), soliciting ideas for a platform that gives investment advice.

Quote from MindSumo about the challenge:

We are embarking on a digital transformation to simplify, modernize and personalize investment advice. A new investment advice platform was recently launched to support this mandate. This new platform allows our customers to get advice in many different settings, including:

  • Physical retail branches
  • Contact centers (phone)
  • Digital channels that can be accessed using personal devices

This optionality lets customers engage with the bank when they want & how they want. Personalization occurs within the platform’s “goals module”, where customers can create, maintain and track their progress across the financial goals that are meaningful to them. Customers are presented with a curated list of the financial solutions that best fits their needs, investor profile, and personal goals. As we launch this platform, we’re interested in learning about your current preferences for receiving investment advice.

Deliverables

  1. From your current experience of receiving investment advice, what are some things you believe could be better?
  2. Based on the description for our new investment advice platform, what capabilities or innovations are missing that you want included?
    • If you know of existing products/services that capture the missing capabilities in your answer, please include links, screenshots, or marketing materials to show us what you mean!
    • If you’re including screenshots, please do NOT include any personal information
