Rotary International Club is an international organization whose purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian service and to advance goodwill and peace around the world. The club membership is open to all and as you might have guessed, they have a lot charity programmes.

The Rotary Peace Fellowship is an annual fellowship programme for students who have demonstrated a commitment to peace and conflict resolution to continue their studies at one of the Rotary peace centers.

Programme Benefits

The Rotary Peace fellowship covers: Tuition fees, internship and field-study expense, round-trip transportation, as well as room, and board.

Available Programmes

  1. Master’s degree programs:

Admitted students will study peace and development issues with research-informed teaching and a diverse student cohort. The program’s duration is up to 24 months and includes a two- to three-month field study.

2. Professional development certificate program:

The program is one- year long, in this period, candidates will experience peace and development professionals with diverse backgrounds, develop practical skills to promote peace in their communities and across the world.

Eligibility 

  • The applicant must have an excellent academic record.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in one of the related fields.
  • Have a full-time work experience of at least three years in peace and development.
  • Must be able to demonstrate a commitment to cross-cultural understanding peace and conflict resolution.
  • Have the ability to undertake intensive reading and discussion in the pursuit of knowledge, and participate actively within a various group of students.
  • Have leadership skills.
  • Be proficient in the English language.
  • Applicant must not be an employee of a Rotary club, an active Rotary member, Rotary International, or other Rotary entity.
  • You are not eligible if you are an active Rotary member, employee of a Rotary club, Rotary International, or other Rotary entity.
  • Rotary Peace Fellows who have completed the certificate program must wait three years to apply for the master’s degree program.

How To Apply

For the academic year 2022-2023, the application will start in February 2021 and applicants will have until 31 May to submit their application.

Applicants must check the curriculum and programs available at each Rotary peace center, and choose two centers for the Master’s program and one for the certificate program. Then submit their application, along with the required supporting documents in English, including a resume, transcripts, essays, academic and/or professional recommendations, social impact plan (certificate only), and test scores (master’s only).

After that, students will have to look for their local Rotary district and contact them in order to get endorsed. The district will interview the applicant then submit an endorsement decision for his/her application.
